Bredin Prat is advising the Casino Group as it enters into exclusive discussions with Auchan Retail and Groupement Les Mousquetaires with a view to the sale of practically all of its hyper- and supermarkets, based on a fixed enterprise value of €1.35 billion (excluding real estate).

The 313 stores within the transaction perimeter represent total sales, for 2022, of approximately €3.6 billion (excl. VAT), excluding fuel sales. Certain real estate assets could also be included within the perimeter of the transaction. All the employees of the relevant stores would be kept by Groupement Les Mousquetaires and Auchan Retail.

This contemplated transaction remains subject to the consultation procedure with the employee representative bodies of the Casino Group and Groupement Les Mousquetaires, and subject to obtaining authorisation from the relevant regulatory authorities and the respective governance bodies of the Casino Group and Groupement Les Mousquetaires.
