The Firm’s Financial Regulation team frequently advises major French and foreign institutions in connection with the regulatory aspects of their strategic projects, whatever form they may take (banking group restructurings, issuance of equity, mergers and acquisitions involving regulated entities, Private Equity or Capital Markets transactions, etc.). The team was granted several mandates for the bank restructuring operations which followed the 2008 financial crisis and also assisted institutions needing to call upon the market to increase their equity.
In this respect, the team has extensive experience in ensuring the necessary authorisations are obtained from the relevant regulatory authorities (authorisations in respect of the acquisition of qualifying participations or the appointment of new executives, or the approvals required in order to carry out certain activities, etc.) and in adapting the entities in order that they comply with regulatory requirements (governance, internal control, etc.).
More generally, the Firm’s Financial Regulation team advises banks and financial services groups in respect of the various issues they encounter in relation to banking regulation, such as governance, resolution or prudential issues.
