  • Julia Apostle

    • Julia Apostle, Counsel, is a member of the firm’s Technology team specialising in strategic digital transactions and data privacy matters. Julia provides support on M&A deals that involve significant and complex technology issues, as well as drafting and negotiating agreements covering data transfers, IT, software, content and brand licensing.

      Julia also provides compliance advice for large corporates and start-ups in relation to GDPR and other data-related regulations, including the preparation of required documentation, also dealing with data subject requests, liaising with regulators and ensuring the conformity of new technology product development with French and EU legislation.

      Julia has spoken at a number of conferences on information rights and media law issues, provides data protection and tech law training to companies and writes occasionally for the Financial Times on data, digital and other legal topics.

    • Professional career

      Before joining Bredin Prat, Julia worked in-house with leading online and social media companies, including the Financial Times, CBS Interactive and Twitter.

    • Academic career

      Julia qualified as a barrister and solicitor in Ontario, Canada (2002) and as UK qualified solicitor (2007). She is Member of the Paris Bar (registered pursuant to EU Directive 98/5/CE). Julia is a graduate of the University of Ottawa (B.A. Communications), McGill Law School (L.L.B. and B.C.L.) and Columbia University (M.S., Journalism). She has also obtained the CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional – Europe) qualification.
