Bredin Prat consolidates its international strategy

Paris, December 14, 2005 – Bredin Prat announces the reinforcement of its international strategy shared with Slaughter and May and other independent law firms, Hengeler Mueller in Germany, Bonelli Erede Pappalardo in Italy and Uria Menendez in Spain. The objective of this strategy is to assist clients in connection with cross-border transactions with integrated teams of leading independent law firms in each of their respective national markets.

In this context and in order to strengthen the co-operation between Bredin Prat and Slaughter and May, teams of "corporate” and "financing” lawyers from Slaughter and May's Paris office will join Bredin Prat. Two partners from Slaughter and May will also be seconded to Bredin Prat to assist on English law matters, particularly relating to financing transactions.

Jean-François Prat commented: "We are delighted with what we have achieved. We believe that it will strengthen our firm and, in particular, our close relationships with Slaughter and May and other Best Friends. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues.”

Tim Clark, Senior Partner at Slaughter and May, in addition indicated "the combination of our office with Bredin Prat will be stronger than the sum of its parts and will allow us to give our clients continuing access to the very highest quality of advice in France on an integrated basis. We have been delighted with the development of our Best Friends relationship with Bredin Prat over recent years. We know them well and there is considerable potential for us to develop a wider range of opportunities to work together in the future. This is a logical step in consolidating our Best Friends approach in this important market.”
